A resident of Birobidzhan strangled a woman, dismembered her body and hid the remains in various parts of the city. This was reported by the regional headquarters of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation. Investigators established that on the night of 6 September, the man and a female acquaintance were drinking alcohol at his flat.

According to the investigation, a dispute arose between them, during which the suspect strangled the woman. He then ‘dismembered the body and hid the parts in various locations around the city’.

A criminal case has been opened into the murder. The suspect has been detained. The question of what preventive measure to impose on him is currently being considered.
