According to preliminary reports , two men on a motorcycle intercepted him while he was working in the shop , around 2:00 p.m., and shot him. The victim, who was left lying inside the premises, was identified by the Police as Darwin S., 31 years old, who has no criminal record. Police officers closed a section of Isidro Ayora Avenue to gather information. Several residents gathered in the surrounding area; others, however, looked out from their balconies to observe the police procedure. Witnesses stated that the assailants pretended to be food delivery drivers to carry out the attack and that, during their escape, their motorcycle was damaged, so they abandoned it in a nearby alley. Police reported that the motorcycle was impounded for forensic examination. Residents of the area reported that the neighborhood has become dangerous. On March 16, two people were shot outside the same establishment. A neighbor recalled the incident. "They fired shots there last time too," he said, noting that one of the bullets hit a car parked next to the business . However, he said he didn't know if the two attacks were related. Another resident confirmed that criminal groups operate in the area. "There are three gangs here in Sauces 8," he stated.
