He moved toward the bakery area, where he aimed his handgun at customers and employees before fleeing the store. Although several people were targeted, NOT ONE person was hit by the gunfire. After leaving the Kroger, Klaff was arrested by police across the street from the store. Investigators later recovered his firearm, phone, and wallet. During questioning, Klaff allegedly told detectives that he had "always wanted to kill someone" and said he had wanted to join the military but "couldn't wait on that." In March 2025, Klaff pleaded guilty to three counts of attempted murder. He was later sentenced to 33 years in prison followed by seven years of probation as part of his plea agreement.
