https://goresee.com/videos/watch/77ae7548-e714-49c7-8489-3240dffc459a On Friday November 9, 2018, American tourist Taylor Kristofer Meyer, 27 of Hermosa Beach, California was robbed and then stabbed to death by a group of three in the coastal city of Playa del Carmen, a popular party town and getaway destination for American tourists, which he was visiting to celebrate a friends birthday. Taylor arrived at Playa del Carmen on Wednesday November 7, 2018 with a group of thirteen friends including many of his fraternity brothers. On Thursday night, the group was at a Western style country bar in a tourist area of town. Taylor's friends state he was last seen dancing with an unknown woman who was not a part of the group. Taylor was separated from his friends and did not return that night. His body was found the next morning near a park about ten minutes from the bar he disappeared from. It was confirmed that around 3 AM multiple witnesses saw three people attack and stab Taylor in the chest/heart as he struggled to get away, his IPhone X, watch, wallet and shoes were all stolen. Mexican authorities arrested one 28-year-old man who goes by the alias "El Chemo" in connection with Taylor's murder, Taylor's family believe he is a scapegoat by the Mexican government to cover up their sons murder so tourists would not be scared away from the region. Taylor's father later discovered two suspicious transactions, one on December 7, 2018 in which a man and woman attempted to use his son's debit card and PIN number at an ATM in Oklahoma City. Local police released a photograph of the suspects and conducted an investigation. He also noticed there was an ATM withdrawal in the early morning on the day of his sons murder in Playa del Carmen, it is believed the perpetrators forced/threatened Taylor to give up his PIN number before killing him. Taylor's family have appeared on multiple American news networks (particularly FOX) to warn other families on the dangers of vacationing in Mexico.
