A video circulating on social media shows the aggression, where the woman slaps the baby and shouts that she would kill him, in addition to threatening another 2-year-old child who was at the scene. According to information from the Military Police, the team was called by the Child Protective Services, which was already in possession of the video of the aggression. The police contacted a man, the father of the 2-year-old child, who reported receiving the video and immediately going to the woman's house to pick up his son. The child was found in good health. Upon arriving at the scene, the officers found another witness who, upon learning of the case, went to the residence and found the woman lying on the floor. She was taken to the Açu health post, transferred to the São João da Barra emergency center, and then taken to the 145th Police Station. After giving her statement, she was taken to the women's prison, where she remained incarcerated. The five-month-old baby was taken in by the Child Protective Services, referred for medical care, and then to a municipal shelter. The City Hall informed that the victims were referred to the Lilac Room, a municipal sector for specialized care for victims of violence. The other minor is under the responsibility of his father, who is not the baby's father. The woman was arrested in flagrante delicto for the crimes of bodily harm resulting from mistreatment and threats. The case remains under investigation.
