The crime took place on Rua 1, in the Loteamento Recife neighborhood. Security camera footage captured the moment when the victim, identified as Esiel Cavalcante de Sá, also known as “Nininho Araquan”, was crossing the street with the child when an HB20 model car approached. One of the occupants of the vehicle fired several shots at the man. Esiel was hit and died at the scene. His daughter, who was beside him, was not injured. Terrified, the girl ran desperately into her mother's arms, who had left the house upon hearing the gunshots and the child's screams. Teams from the Pernambuco Military Police (PMPE) cordoned off the area. The Civil Police (PCPE) and the Institute of Legal Medicine (IML) were also called in for the forensic examination and removal of the body. The perpetrator and motive for the crime are still unknown. The Civil Police have opened an investigation into the case. No one has been arrested so far.
